DIY: REMOVE EXCESS TAN & LIGHTEN SKIN

I've recently noticed how dark my face is compared to my arms, hands and neck. So when my tops don't have a high neck, with or without makeup it looks like I have a super dark foundation on when I don't (oh the struggle is REAL). This is the result of crazy exposure to sunlight.

For the last three weeks, I've been trying out this easy DIY face mask which has not only removed the annoying tan on my face but it has also magically reduces the excess oiliness that I've had on my t-zone recently.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
1. Full Fat Milk (blue top)
Milk is one of the most natural ingredients to improve the skins complexion. The high amounts of lactic acid in the milk will encourage the skin to reduce its pigmentation and brighten.

2. Gram Flour (also known as Besan)
This type of flour aids towards removing dead skin cells leaving the skin feeling super soft and bright. It also reduces excess oils and evens out the complexion.

I start off with 1 tablespoon of gram flour and gradually adding milk

I used 2-3 teaspoons of milk till it formed a thick yellow paste

I love applying all my face masks with a flat foundation brush as it allows me to apply the product evenly (& of course keep my fingers clean)

I apply the mask on my face and neck as that's where I tend to tan unevenly

I usually leave the mask on for about 6-8 minutes. The longer you leave it on the harder it is to take off as it sets pretty hard

I use a muslin cloth (rinsed in warm water) to take off the mask rubbing clockwise and anti-clockwise to ensure the product is worked into my skin

To finish off I splash cold water on my face to close my pores. You must be consistent with this mask in order to see effective results. I like to do this mask up to 3-4 times a week when possible. This mask can be used on other parts of the body such as the arms and feet as the tan always seems to be uneven there too!

Happy de-tanning!
