Social Media

First and foremost, I'd like to say if you believe blogging is for you then definitely go for it, no matter what others say. I have strong beliefs in supporting one another in the Blogosphere and it must be something you truly enjoy doing. I get tons of DM's and emails asking about blogging so I thought I'd put together a blogging series, writing about the different aspects of blogging.

To kick start the series, I've listed a few things to think about before starting your blogging journey. Each point varies depending on you. Remember: these are all my own opinions!

Blogging can be very time consuming but for me it's totally worth it. I've been blogging for a year and a half now and I don't always get the chance to post every single day but I try to at least once or twice a week. Even once a week is enough if you're posting regularly on social media. I strongly believe the more time you spend on your blog, the more successful you will be. Now, I'm not saying Skin Face Beauty is anywhere near successful, but I do put a lot of effort in and get high enough views per month to say it's quite busy up in my stats. Remember, consistency is KEY!

It's so so important to always have a positive attitude if you are part of #teaminternet. And the best time to show your positive side is when you receive negative/hate comments. I'm not saying you'll definitely receive them, but you will come across some at one point of your blogging journey. The worst thing to do in this situation is to react to them. That is a no-no! s Just simply remove and ignore them. It can be hard to ignore and not react but always remember, no negative comments deserve recognition let alone a reply.

I am very much a visual person so I try my best to make sure my blog pictures are always crisp and clear. By no means am I saying to spend hundreds on a brand new camera. Phones nowadays can take just as good pictures when in good lighting and plain backgrounds. The more pictures you have with your writing, the more intrigued and interested the reader will be.

A quote that I throw around my social media here and there is 'Inspire, not compete'. Blogging isn't a competition. It's not about who is better than whom- that's the kind of talks that go on between your readers, not you as a blogger. It's always so nice to see bloggers empowering each other and sharing the love.

When people find out I'm a blogger, they straight away assume I receive tons of free products through the post. No! Did I start blogging for the freebies? No! The majority of the products I own, I purchased with my own money. And when I review products that have been sent to me, I always give my own opinion. Just because a product was sent to me for free, that doesn't mean I have to pretend to like the product. Don't start blogging because you want the freebies, that's just plain stupid. You have to enjoy what you do.

If you're a blogger, feel free to leave your blog links down below. I'd love to check them out!
