Bolder the better: Autumn & Winter Lipsticks

During the cold autumn and winter months, I love switching up my makeup. This is the time where the ‘less is more’ saying definitely kicks in for me. I moisturize, add a little mascara and bronzer and finish the look with a bold lippy. 

Dark lipsticks come in different undertones. That doesn’t necessary mean if your skin is warm toned, you have to stick with warm toned lippys. Mix and match, try them before you buy and be happy with the look before purchasing.

SLEEK - CHERRY

Sleek's True Colour lipstick in Cherry has a sheen finish. It's a dark red with pink undertones and very moisturising. All sleek true colour lipsticks are infused with vitamin E- so that's an amazing benefit for such a cheap lippy. Sleek's lipstick in Dare is a similar colour in a matte finish.

Mac's lipstick in Ruby Woo has a matte finish. It's a classic bright red with cool undertones and as it is quite drying, I use a lip balm underneath for a smooth finish.

Revlon's Matte Balm in Sultry has a soft matte finish. It's a pinky plum with pink undertones and is great if you don't want a lipstick that's too bold for everyday wear.

For dry textured lipsticks, exfoliate the lips using Lush Lip Scrub and apply some lip balm for a smoother look. To pull off the perfect dark lips, I always use a lip liner as a base- this ensures the lipstick lasts longer. For a clean finish, apply with a lip brush and run a little concealor around the edges of your lips.
