MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers

As you know, I am a sucker for a matte lippy! So when I laid my eyes on these babies, I just had to try them. MUA released their Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers earlier this year and I picked up the colours Tranquility, Halcyon and Atomic. I have to say at such a cheap price and high quality pigmentation, they definitely are a makeup stash must have!

The packaging is very chic and expensive looking. It comes in a frosted glass tube with gold 'MUA LUXE LONDON' lettering on the wand. As I wasn't able to swatch these shades before buying, I just picked up any random 3 that looked good in colour by looking at the tube.

Tranquility is a lovely nude colour with slight pink undertones. I would say it is a shade (or two) lighter than Halycon. 

Halcyon is a nude colour with pink undertones. A better suited nude for people with darker skin tones.

Atomic is a gorg red with orange undertones. A great lip staple- kinda reminds me of MAC So chaud, don't ya think?

Like all matte lipsticks, before applying I like to use a lip scrub (review here), apply some lip balm and use a lip liner to ensure the lip lacquer lasts longer. The wand application makes it easy to line around the lips and then fill it in. After applying, it dries within seconds and I would say the lacquers can last up to 3-4 hours without retouching, which is great for a product costing only £3. Superdrugs always have a 3 for 2 deal on all their makeup ranges, so watch out for those for an even better bargain!
