The drugstores here in the UK have really upped their game, bringing out their very own version of lip kits which include a liquid lipsticks and a lip pencil. I love the original lip kits reviewed here, but they are a bit on the pricey side - especially after adding the delivery charges and sometimes the custom charges.
THE LIP KIT SHADES
The Barry M lip kits are currently available in three shades and are the second cheapest lip kits at the drugstore right now. You can read the reviews to the other drugstore lip kits linked at the end of this blog post.
The three shades of the lip kits are Go To, Pose and Runway. They have been compared to the Kylie liquid lipsticks quite a bit on the Blogosphere, and yes in terms of shades there are some similarities. The Barry M ones are on the watery side as opposed to the Kylie ones which aren't creamy but aren't watery either. Read full review HERE. When first swatching the Barry M liquid lipsticks, they look fairly light, but as they dry matte, they dry a shade or two deeper.
SINGLE LIQUID LIPSTICKS
There are a total of 5 single liquid lipsticks by Barry M, and I picked up 2: Minimalist and On the Scene. The other three shades are: Pop Up Cherry, Embellish Purple and Papparazi Red.
THE FORMULA
The formula isn't terrible but it isn't perfect either. I find that within an hour (maybe two), the lipstick totally disappears on the inner part of my lips and this is without eating or drinking. I did find myself having to reply at least 3-4 times on the days I wore these liquid lipsticks coming from someone who rarely ever has to reapply. It is a tad bit drying and I found that when reapplying, it starts to crumble so I had to take off what was left from before and then reapply.
The lip liner is your standard liner, much better than the Makeup Revolution and Lottie London ones which I found broke easily - even without putting pressure on the pencil. I found the lip pencil a little darker than the liquid lipsticks itself, which isn't necessarily a bad thing - at least you get two different shades to use per kit.
