NIP + FAB MAKEUP, FIRST IMPRESSIONS & WHICH SUPERDRUG STOCKS THE RANGE

Nip + Fab are originally known for their skincare, specifically their famous Glycolic range which is so popular amongst everyone in the blogosphere. In March this year, they released a huge makeup range which consisted of foundations, contour palettes, lip products and much more. I was lucky enough to receive a few items before they hit the stores but because I had deadlines for my finals at uni, this blog post is superrrr late.
The range consists of a foundation which is made up of 10 different shades and a light and dark mixer to adjust the shade of a foundation to match you. The light mixer is pure white which does work well to lighten any foundation but the dark mixer is quite cool toned so it doesn't darken the foundation. Instead, it turns the foundation into a greyish shade so using it as a contour shade would make it more useful. Here are the products I have:

Foundation in 40 PURCHASE HERE
"To guarantee #NoFilter status, use our medium coverage foundation to create a flawless base with ease".
The foundation is extremely lightweight, and when I say lightweight I mean 'a little like water' kinda lightweight. It has light to medium coverage, it sets matte and it has some sort of dewiness that shows through that creates a slight soft focus on the skin. The foundation does cling to dry patches so it's best used on exfoliated and thoroughly moisturised skin. I don't think the foundation is long-lasting, after 2-3 hours I find that it gathers around certain areas of my face such as around the nose and my forehead. So when I tried it again, I used a silicone based primer in those areas and it did help however, I think that this foundation is best used on days where you'll only be out for a couple of hours and need something pretty basic.

Lip Liner in Expresso PURCHASE HERE
"Twist & pout with our automatic lip liner".

Lip liners that don't need sharpening are the best lip liners ever, no hassle, no sharpening mess. There are 5 lip liners in the range and they are super creamy. Twist up lip liners are never disappointing!

Matte Liquid Lipsticks PURCHASE HERE
"Don’t let bae ever ruin your lipstick again with our matte liquid lipstick, containing shea butter and vitamin E".
- Toffee
- Cinnamon
- Marshmallow
- Biscuit
- Pink Lemonade
- Spice
- Brownie
The liquid lipstick selection are all different shades of nude; browns, peaches and pinks. I love how sleek their packaging is and it still follows the nip + fab monochrome look and showing the shade of the liquid lipstick. They come in a standard doe-foot applicator form which allows easy application. They are very pigmented so all you need is one swipe and you're done - it's not streaky too. It dries matte within seconds, it's a tad bit drying that any lip balm underneath can fix and I did find it a little bit tacky once dried but it isn't uncomfortable. The longevity was pretty good, it lasted up to 4-5 hours without having to reapply. There are 10 nudes to choose from in this range.

Contour Palette in Light PURCHASE HERE
Contour Palette in Dark PURCHASE HERE
"Unleash your inner sass! Introducing the only contour palette you need to enhance, define and brighten for the illusion of higher cheekbones, a sharper jawline and sculpted nose".
 LIGHT ^
DARK ^
Each palette comes with 6 different shades; a mix of cool contour shades, warm bronzing shades, highlighting shades and under-eye setting powders and are available in light, medium and dark. I have the light and the dark which work really well on my complexion. The texture of the pans are super soft and velvety. They are also extremely pigmented and blend so well on bare skin and foundation. I didn't find the shades patchy or powdery as some contour palettes can be. The palettes can also double up as eyeshadows.

Primer Water PURCHASE HERE
"Introducing your new BFF; the makeup miracle that is our multi-tasking Primer Water – containing witch hazel and hyaluronic acid, it’s created to prime, set and refresh in one quick spritz - you'll soon wonder how you ever lived without it".
I love using Primer Water's as a makeup pick me up and have loved using the Smashbox version. I was excited to try this one as there aren't many (or any) available in the drugstore sold simply as a Primer Water. I used this as soon as I received it and I hated the way it sprayed. It didn't spray evenly like a mist so I prefer to spray a couple of spritz into clean hands and then dab onto my skin. I do think it works exactly like the Smashbox Primer water and acts well as a primer/base for foundation.

Highlight Palette in Stroboscopic PURCHASE HERE
"You can't get more lit than this".
I love every single shade in this highlight palette. They are even more buttery than the contour palettes and blend really well into my skin. They are slightly on the powdery side and when you pick up too much product with your brush it can get messy. So remember to just touch the brush lightly. I have used this with the Primer Water spritzed onto my brush for an exaggerated glow - stunning!

Eyeshadow Palette in Sculpted PURCHASE HERE
"The mother of all eyeshadow palettes to take your eyes from subtly sculpted days to strong, smoky nights".
The colours in this palette is so current and is every bloggers favourite, mix of some gorgeous warm tones. The palette consists of 10 matte shades and 2 shimmery shades. The shades are all pigmented and must be used with a good priming base otherwise, I noticed without the primer the shade quickly fades away.

OVERVIEW
I do think the entire range is a hit and miss. It did take me a while to start loving the products and find a way to use them to make them work for me. I'd definitely say to make sure you swatch every shade before purchasing as I noticed they do look drastically different against different complexions.
